Meillonnas ( Arpitan : Melyonâs ) is a French municipality with 1335 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Ain in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the canton of Saint-Étienne-du-Bois (until 2015: canton of Treffort-Cuisiat ) in the Bourg-en-Bresse arrondissement .

Meillonnas is located about ten kilometers east-northeast of Bourg-en-Bresse in the Revermont . The Sevron rises in the municipality . The neighboring communities are Val-Revermont (formerly: Treffort-Cuisiat ) in the north and east, Drom in the south-east, Jasseron in the south and south-west and Saint-Étienne-du-Bois in the west and north-west.
