Reinhard Brunner

Reinhard Brunner (born February 20, 1961 in Stuttgart ) is a German painter and graphic artist .

Life

Reinhard Brunner put in 1980 at the School Waldhäuser East (now Scholl School ) in Tübingen the High School from. After studying new German literature and Japanese studies at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen , he began working as a freelance artist in 1991. Since 2005 he has been a member of the Künstlerbund Tübingen. In 2009 he took over the artistic direction of the peripheral gallery in the Tübingen brewhouse. In addition to German , Brunner also has Swiss citizenship. He lives and works in Tübingen.

Brunner's artistic work consists primarily of paintings and graphics . Brunner's paint is not only applied to paper and canvas , but also to unusual surfaces such as chipboard or Formica panels . The parallel use of different application techniques is typical of his pictures. Brunner uses brushes , spatulas , sponges and numerous other instruments to create his pictures . The applied colors are partly sanded, layered or heated.

In addition, there are three-dimensional picture objects from Brunner's hand, but they only make up a small part of his oeuvre. The works of Brunner are almost without exception abstract . He himself describes his style as "abstract-expressive-minimalist color painting".
