Mionnay is a French commune with 2,100 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Ain in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Bourg-en-Bresse and the canton of Villars-les-Dombes .
geography
Mionnay is in the center of the Dombes , 17 kilometers north of Lyon city center . The rapid increase in population in the second half of the 20th century is thanks to this neighborhood. In the southwest, the municipality of Mionnay borders on the canton of Neuville-sur-Saône , which is part of the contiguous agglomeration of Lyons. Here Mionnay therefore borders the Arrondissement of Lyon in the Département Rhône .
Mionnay includes the districts of Les Platières and Gaillebeau as well as numerous individual farms.
Neighboring municipalities of Mionnay are Saint-André-de-Corcy in the northeast, Montluel and Tramoyes in the southeast, Miribel in the south, Cailloux-sur-Fontaines and Montanay in the southwest and Civrieux in the northwest.
