The Canton of Villars-les-Dombes is a French canton in the department of Ain in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It comprises 25 municipalities in the arrondissement of Bourg-en-Bresse , and its bureau centralisateur is in Villars-les-Dombes . As part of the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons, it was significantly expanded in spring 2015.

Until the reorganization, the canton of Villars-les-Dombes consisted of the 10 municipalities Birieux , Bouligneux , La Chapelle-du-Châtelard , Lapeyrouse , Marlieux , Monthieux , Saint-Germain-sur-Renon , Saint-Marcel , Saint-Paul-de- Varax and Villars-les-Dombes . Its layout corresponded to an area of 180.90 km 2 . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 0135.
