The canton of Seyssel was 2015 a French canton in the department of Ain in the region Rhône-Alpes . It comprised five parishes in the arrondissement of Belley , its main town (French: chef-lieu ) was Seyssel .

The canton should not be confused with the canton of the same name, Seyssel in the Haute-Savoie department , which was directly adjacent to it but was on the other side of the Rhone . Both cantons were abolished with the nationwide redesign of the cantons in 2015.
