The Canton of Gex is a French canton in the department of Ain in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It comprises seven municipalities in the Arrondissement of Gex , its bureau centralisateur is in Gex . As part of the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons, it was reduced in size in spring 2015.

Until the reorganization, the canton of Gex consisted of the eleven municipalities of Cessy , Chevry , Crozet , Divonne-les-Bains , Échenevex , Gex , Grilly , Lélex , Mijoux , Ségny and Vesancy . Its layout corresponded to an area of 183.11 km 2 . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 0114.
