Chassant is a place and a community with 329 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in northern France Eure-et-Loir in the region Center-Val de Loire .

Chassant is located on the south bank of the Thironne river in Perche, a good 40 km southwest of Chartres at an altitude of approx. 220 m . The next larger town is Nogent-le-Rotrou (approx. 20 km to the west). The climate is influenced to a large extent by the sea and is therefore almost frost-free; Rain (approx. 675 mm / year) falls throughout the year.

Attractions
- The Romanesque parish church, later changed several times, is dedicated to St. Consecrated to Leobinus of Chartres . The walls of the nave and its wooden vault with tie rods seem to be from the 15th / 16th centuries. Century to date; the church windows were also gothic at that time and a bell tower was added. The rood screen, which looks quite village-like and has an altarpiece and several carved figures, dates from the 17th or 18th century; two doors lead into the sacristy behind .
- Immediately on the southern outer wall of the church is the figurative war memorial for the local soldiers who fell in World War I.
- The local oral tradition speaks of a medieval castle (château) , but nothing of it has survived.
