Montigny-le-Chartif is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Happonvilliers in the north, Illiers-Combray in the east and northeast, Méréglise in the east, Vieuvicq in the east and southeast, Mottereau in the southeast, Frazé in the south, La Touche and Thiron-Gardais in the west and Combres in the north-west.
