Leonie Stade (* 1988 in Lindau ) is a German director, producer and author.

Life

Leonie Stade grew up in Lindau on Lake Constance. After graduating from high school in 2007, she went on a world tour and worked as a photo model in Paris and Milan for several years. She studied documentary film directing and production in a double degree at the HFF Munich and graduated in 2019 with a diploma.

Her first documentary film about a Munich prostitute was made as part of the exhibition Subjective. Documentary in the 21st century shown in the Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich. Her second short film Zwei qm Leben , about the so-called Cage People in Hong Kong, was nominated for the CNN Journalist Award in 2013. The film Nowhereman was made together with Annika Blendl and ran in the competition for the Max Ophüls Prize .

In 2015 the film Mollath - “And suddenly you're crazy” , which Stade directed together with Annika Blendl , was released in the cinemas. The film had previously premiered at the Munich Film Festival . The film was first broadcast on BR in December 2015 . In 2019 her feature film debut All I never wanted (directors: Leonie Stade and Annika Blendl) will be released.
