Annika Greta Blendl (born June 16, 1982 in Regensburg ) is a German actress , director and film producer .

Life

Blendl grew up with five siblings. She began her artistic career as a schoolgirl playing the violin . She won first prize at the nationwide youth competition Jugend musiziert twice in a row . After graduating from high school, she went from Cologne to Berlin to become an actress, following the example of her older sister Mareile . She first shot commercials and worked as a model for various fashion houses. Without any acting training, Blendl took on her first television roles in 2001. She made her debut in the series Aus gute Haus and has appeared in television films such as In the Middle of a Life and Cold Spring . In the German crime series Tatortshe participated in several episodes. In 2004, after meeting director Schorsch Kamerun at the Schauspielhaus in Zurich, a collaboration for the theater production Die Schneekönigin followed .

Blendl played roles in films such as Michael Klier's Farland , Christian Petzold's Ghosts and 2007 in Stephan Geene's After Effect . In the same year Blendl played her first continuous leading role in the new crime series Donna Roma . The year 2008 ended with the title role in Matthias Tiefenbacher's TV drama Die Schöne vom Beckenrand and a guest role in Polizeiruf 110 , directed by Alain Gsponers . Blendl played leading roles in the directorial debut and university degree films Maria am Wasser by Thomas Wendrich (2006) and Transit by Philipp Leinemann (2010).

2009 Annika Blendl took a degree in documentary film directing at the University of Television and Film Munich and founded in 2012 with director Michael Schmitt and actress Leonie Stade the Man on Mars film production (Blendl Schmitt Stade GbR). The cinema documentary Mollath - And suddenly you're crazy about Gustl Mollath was produced here in 2015 . Blendl's graduation film at the HFFM, the feature film with documentary elements All I never wanted , which she once again directed together with Leonie Stade, was made by her production company.

Since October 2019, Blendl has been investigating as Commissioner Pia Walther , who cannot cope with the death of her husband, under the direction of Maike Riems in Police Department 14 of the Leipzig Murder Commission in the ZDF crime series " Das Quartett ".

She has a son with her partner, the actor Alexander Beyer .
