The family lawyer was a German drama series.

Lawyer Hanna Lorenz thinks her life with her two teenage children Charlotte and Patrick and her husband Robert is perfect. She runs a law firm with Robert. But one day she finds herself in front of the shards of her existence: Robert has been cheating on her for ten years with their colleague Bettina and is now leaving her for her. In addition, he has put money aside and leaves Hanna with a practically cleared office. Despite the now raging war of divorce, Hanna begins to think about her private life: she discovers the problems daughter Charlotte has and realizes that when son Patrick prefers to move in with his father, she has not been there for him before. Nevertheless, Hanna manages to set up a new law firm, but is surrounded by rather bizarre lawyer colleagues due to the speed with which the foundation was taking place. She now specializes in family law and, although she cannot handle her private problems smoothly, can use her experience to solve her cases.

- The second season of the series, which comprises eight episodes, was produced from July to December 2006 in Cologne and the surrounding area. However, only two of the eight episodes produced were broadcast on Mondays at 9:15 p.m. The first episode of the second season only achieved a market share of 9.5% (3.12 million viewers). The second episode had less than three million viewers and only had a market share of 8.8% in the relevant group.
