Jana Thies

Jana Thies (born January 24, 1973 in Lüdenscheid ) is a German actress .

From 1994 to 1998 she studied acting at the Academy for Performing Arts (AdK) in Ulm . She then went to Paris as an intern at the Théâtre de Nésle there and then took on the role of Karo for a year in the children's play of the same name by the Cologne DaS Theater on its tour of Germany. She also acted in the play Prometheus of the German-Greek theater in Cologne.

In film, she initially worked in several short films by directing students. In the psychodrama Stiller Sturm by Tomasz Thomson she got her first big role as a young and lonely woman. In 2001 she was awarded the Max Ophüls Prize for Best Young Actress.

Since then, Jana Thies has appeared in other film and television productions, including 2006 to 2007 in the series Die Familienanwältin . In 2006 she was nominated for the German TV Prize with the ensemble of Die Familienanwältin .
