Die Schöne vom Beckenrand is a German television film by Matthias Tiefenbacher from 2009. It is the 41st episode of the crime series A strong team with Maja Maranow and Florian Martens in the leading roles.

action

Chief Detective Verena Berthold and colleague Otto Garber have to solve the murder of the credit advisor Mathias Berger. He was found dead in the water in the swimming pool early that morning. Of all people, his lover, who works there, discovered the lifeless body. After initial examinations, his head was forcefully pushed under water. Traces on the pool fence point to a perpetrator with size 45 shoes and gold-colored sneakers.

The commissioners have to inform Susanne Berger of the death of her husband. The woman has been in a wheelchair for six months because of an MS illness and is relatively relaxed about the news. Due to her physical condition, she is ruled out as a suspect and there is also no discernible motive in the seemingly harmonious relationship with her husband. She had been told by a lover of her husband and allegedly accepted it. In contrast, there are more noticeable constellations in the professional environment. Berger has approved a generous loan to a Konrad Schuster, who has hardly any collateral to offer. The investigators later find the reason for this, because Schuster was Berger's girlfriend's ex boyfriend and he used her and her attractiveness to help him with his business ventures. It was not planned that his Jennifer would then completely break away from him and stick to Berger.

Therefore, Berthold wants to deal more closely with Jennifer Meyer. She finds out her name and address and is very surprised when she meets Susanne Berger at her home. In her presence, she finds out that Berger has bought his lover's house for both of them. Since it is now obvious that Berger wanted to leave his wife for Jennifer, there is a very strong motive. In addition, life insurance would offer a good financial cushion. After the inspector discovers gold-colored sneakers in Berger's son Gregor's car, she realizes that the solution to the case can be found here. When the examination of the shoes proves that Gregor Berger was at the scene, he admits to be responsible for the death of his father. He just wanted to talk to him, but they had argued, which ended so tragically.

criticism

Tilmann P. Gangloff from tittelbach.tv said: “The art of this 'A strong team' crime thriller by Maris Pfeiffer & Matthias Tiefenbacher lies above all in the careful drawing of the exquisitely played characters, who all look into their own personal abyss. [...] So a story between beauty and decay, an actually tactless formulation, which, however, comes from the author Pfeiffer. "

The critics of the TV magazine TV Spielfilm gave the best rating (thumbs up) and said: "Great women's crime - also for men!"
