Thomas Wendrich (* 1971 in Dresden ) is a German screenwriter , director and actor .

Life

Thomas Wendrich studied acting from 1990 to 1994 at the Babelsberg Film University . After that he was a member of the Berliner Ensemble until 1999 , playing under Peter Zadek, Einar Schleef and Heiner Müller. From 1999 to 2001 he attended the script academy of the dffb . Since 2001 he has been working as a freelance writer and director and still as an actor. His script for the first part of the NSU trilogy Mitten in Deutschland received several awards, including a. with the Grimme Prize 2017 in the fiction competition. The premiere of his last film was seen by 9.19 million television viewers on March 19, 2017 on ARD, the crime scene: Borowski and the dark network , directed by David Wnendt .
