occupation

Borowski and the Dark Net is a television film from the crime series Tatort . The report produced by NDR is the 1015th Tatort episode and was broadcast on March 19, 2017 on Erste and SRF 1 . The Kiel commissioner Klaus Borowski is investigating his 29th case; for his colleague Sarah Brandt it is the twelfth case.

action

LKA officer Jürgen Sternow is deliberately murdered in a fitness studio. He was the head of the special cybercrime department at the State Criminal Police Office - Borowski and Brandt are starting to investigate. The tracks lead to a contract killer hired on the Darknet . This was injured in his attack on Sternow and can soon be found by Brandt via an internet trace outside the Darknet. With the help of the victim's cybercrime department, Brandt and Borowski try to find the person who commissioned the murder. The attempt to locate him in an image file using a Trojan fails because the Trojan is reversed, which among other things leads to the triggering of the sprinkler system in the investigators' rooms. This failure corroborates the suspicion that the client comes from the ranks of those involved in the investigation, as he apparently knew about the Trojan.

When Brandt visits the public prosecutor Tom Austerlitz at home, who wanted to entice Brandt into his department, she sees the writing Orion , the pseudonym of the client, on monitors that are switched on in his basement . Austerlitz had discovered a sticky note with the code of a Bitcoin account on a confiscated computer in the evidence room of the district and stole it, which did not go unnoticed by Sternow and another officer. The decayed body of the latter, now a pensioner, has already been discovered by the inspectors in a shaft in his apartment. The contract killer was also found hanged in his cell after a visit by the prosecutor.

Borowski also came across Austerlitz through another lead. When he cannot reach his colleague, he rushes to the prosecutor's apartment. Brandt escapes her murder by using an animal trap from Austerlitz's collection to kill him.

The film was shot from July 4, 2016 to July 27, 2016 in Kiel, Hamburg , Schwarzenbek and Reinbek .

Reviews

“There are a lot of strong scenes in this 'crime scene', but together they don't make a strong film. In the end, the filmmakers do not succeed in getting back down to earth from the constant ironic exaggeration. Because that's what 'Borowski and the Dark Net' should actually be: a solid thriller in which the investigators chase an elusive opponent against time. "

“A cartoon inspector is as rare in the crime scene story as a flogging zebra: Everything is required in this episode, and everything is again too much. The film is both a thriller and a parody of thriller. Black comedy in which pallbearers get entangled in the barrier tape. But in the explanatory moments also school radio seminars and sometimes completely over it again in its unbelievability. [...] The fact that you stick with it is due to the dialogues, the lyrics are consistently bittersweet and very precise. "

TV Spielfilm judged the film to be “restlessly or hastily told, but always virtuoso”. He "irritates a bit with the secondary characters." "What the director wants to tell with the secondary character 'Receptionist Rosi' remains a little obscure - and her fate apparently doesn't matter."
