Michael Rastl

Michael Rastl (* 1948 in Bad Ischl ) is an Austrian actor and radio play speaker .

Life

After Michael Rastl passed the Matura in his hometown, he began studying acting at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna . He then played at German theaters such as the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg, the theaters of the City of Cologne , the Schauspielhaus Bochum , the Munich Residenztheater and the Staatstheater Stuttgart as well as in Switzerland at the Schauspielhaus Zürich , before he returned to Austria in 1990 and spent 15 years on Volkstheater Wien was engaged. Rastl had further engagements at the Landesbühne Hanover and in Berlin at the local Schaubühne and the Renaissance theater . Rastl played the title role in Ibsen's The Master Builder in was Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller , in Kleist's Penthesilea or Strindberg's Dance of Death to be seen.

Michael Rastl received several awards during his stage career, including the 1989 Grand Hersfeld Award for his portrayal of Matti in the Brecht -Stück Mr Puntila and his Man Matti at the Bad Hersfeld Festival .

Michael Rastl often works for film and television. For example, he stood in front of the camera for the movie In 3 Days You're Dead , directed by Andreas Prochaska , and has appeared as a guest in various TV series, including several times in Kommissar Rex , Der Bergdoktor and SOKO Vienna as well as in the first Schimanski - Tatort Duisburg -Ruhrort .

Rastl also works as a radio play speaker, including in 1986 in the multi-part production Schleuse zur Zukunft des Süddeutscher Rundfunk , from the 1990s he worked for ORF .

Michael Rastl lives in Vienna.
