Ulrich Heising
Ulrich Heising (born April 15, 1941 in Königsberg ; † January 24, 2013 ) was a German theater director and film director .
Live and act
Heising studied theater studies in Cologne and Berlin . 1964/65 he was assistant director at the Städtische Bühnen Köln , 1965 to 1968 at the Münchner Kammerspiele and 1968 at the Schauspielhaus Hamburg .
He made his directorial debut in 1969 in the Werkraum of the Münchner Kammerspiele with Albee's Box-Mao-Box , other productions there included Sperr's hunting scenes from Lower Bavaria in 1969 and Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen in the version by Christian Enzensberger in 1971 . In 1969 he directed O'Casey's Kikeriki at the Schauspielhaus Zürich .
From 1972 to 1979 Heising worked as a director at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg . His productions here included the world premiere of Kroetz ' Stallerhof (1972), Valentin's obsessions (1975), Hauptmann's Der Biberpelz (1977) and the world premiere of Wolf Christian Schröder's dream killer - Edgar Poe meets Peter Kürten (1978).
From 1979 Heising worked as a freelance director. He was particularly active at the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus , for example in 1980 with Schiller's Maria Stuart (1980), Kortner's Donauwellen (1980), Strauss ' Known Faces, Mixed Emotions (1981) and Horst Laubes The Perpetual Piano Player (1988).
Other productions included Sperr's Hunting Scenes From Lower Bavaria at the Manhattan Theater Club New York (1981/82), Strauss ' Kalldewey, Farce (1983, Cologne), Heiner Müller's Quartet (1983, Münchner Kammerspiele), the world premiere of Ludwig Fels ' The Ape Murderer (1985, Münchner Kammerspiele), Dario Fos Accidentally a Woman (1985, Residenztheater ), Kusz ' A Rua is, Bua! (1984, Münchner Volkstheater ), Reinshagens Doppelkopf (1986, Münchner Volkstheater), Herzmanovsky-Orlando's Wiesenhendl (1987, Münchner Volkstheater), Rosenows Kater Lampe (1979, Freie Volksbühne Berlin ), Lenz / Brechts Der Hofmeister (1988, Freie Volksbühne Berlin) , Bernhard's A Festival for Boris (1989, Freie Volksbühne Berlin) and Ligeti's Le Grand Macabre (1991, Theater Ulm ).
Heising worked as a director frequently for radio and occasionally for television. From 1967 to 1970 he was a teacher at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich and from 1975 to 1979 at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater . He also taught as a guest at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz , at the Theater Studies Institute at the University of Munich and from 1991 to 1994 at the Institute for Drama, Theater Direction, subject concept development at the University of Hamburg . From May 1994 to 1996 he was the director of the Otto Falckenberg School.
He was married to the actress Christa Berndl .
