Die Neue - Eine Frau mit Kaliber was a 14-part crime series produced by ORF 1 and Sat.1 in 1997 .

District inspector Lisa Engel takes over a rundown and long-abandoned police station on Mondsee . There she first had to come to terms with her predecessor, the now retired District Inspector Rudi Aschenbrenner , and deal with all kinds of criminal cases during her stay in the Austrian mountains.
Background information
The series was created as a counterpart to Stockinger and Commissioner Rex , to enable female commissioners to have their own television series. It aired weekly in 1998.
However, as with Stockinger, the television audience's interest could only be aroused to a limited extent and the series did not achieve the market share of 15% required by Sat.1 , so that after only 14 episodes production was discontinued without a finale.
In 2003 a DVD of the pilot film “Jagdfieber” was released.
