Elisabeth Schwarz (actress)

Elisabeth Schwarz (born November 7, 1938 in Stuttgart ) is a German actress .

Life

She left high school for an acting course at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich. Her first engagements took her to the Schleswig-Holstein State Theater in Schleswig and from 1961 to 1965 to the Kassel State Theater. In 1964 she was seen at the Vienna Volkstheater with Günther Lüders in Frank Wedekind's "König Nicolo" (director: Gustav Manker ). In 1965 she came to the Stuttgart State Theater , where she was part of the ensemble until 1972 . From 1972 she worked with breaks at the Schauspiel Frankfurt . In 1973/74, she worked at the Darmstadt State Theater, from 1978 she appeared frequently at the Münchner Kammerspiele . From 1978 to 1985 she worked as a freelancer. Since 1985 she has been part of Jürgen Flimm's ensemble at Hamburg's Thalia Theater for 16 years .

In her long theater career, Elisabeth Schwarz played a wide variety of roles in both classic and modern plays. In the film, she was particularly convincing in 1977 alongside Götz George in From a German Life . Her daughter Therese Hämer is also an actress.

She also lent her voice as a dubbing actress. a. Meryl Streep ( Holocaust - The Story of the Weiss Family ) and Geraldine Chaplin (including Life is a Novel , Peppermint Frappé and Breed Raven… ).

Since 2005 she has been a member of the Berlin Academy of the Arts .
