action

Stoever and Brockmöller are called to a knife fight in the Afro-American cultural center in Hamburg. Black Roul, one of the guests, was stabbed but no one saw anything. While Stoever looks around and inspects the sacred rooms of the voodoo priest who is there, he receives a call that calls him on a new case. The building contractor Walter Mewes was found hanged in his villa, and it remains to be seen whether it really was suicide. The grief of the dead man's wife and son is limited, so that Stoever becomes suspicious. This is compounded when he finds out that the stabbed Roul was security chief at one of Mewe's companies. When Stoever and Brockmöller looked around there, they found out that the company "Caribu" had numerous black employees and that there was great tension between the managing director Jensen and the new junior boss Gert Mewes.

Stoever and Brockmöller go to the Kulturhaus again and meet the young Robert Samland, who does manual work there during the day and has an apartment on the upper floor. From him they learn that Roul was not very popular and that he worked for some kind of secret service in his home country. In addition, the voodoo priest Gracieux Bisainthe is not the boss among the blacks, but the young and pretty Celine Martial, who works as a domestic servant for the Mewes. While Stoever and Brockmöller are secretly attending a fetish spell in the Kulturhaus, Gert Mewes suffers a fatal traffic accident. When the commissioners want to bring the sad news of the death of their son to Marianne Mewes, they are stopped by authorized officer Jensen in front of the villa. He now feels like the boss and doesn't want to let them into the house. For Marianne Mewes, her domestic help Celine Martial is to blame for everything. She would first "crazy" her husband made, then her son, and now both were dead. But it turns out that Walter Mewes the father of Celine had and during his frequent visits to Haiti with AIDS had infected what his intimate relationship to Celine and also declared his suicide.

During his research, Stoever comes across Robert Samland, who is obviously very much inspired by the religious voodoo rituals and who is secretly in love with Celine. When he confronts him, he admits he murdered Roul for repeatedly speaking badly about Celine. Roul provoked him so that he then stabbed. Stoever arrests him after his confession. The forensic investigation shows that the steering of Mewe's car was manipulated. For this act, Stoever can convict the authorized signatory Jensen. Since he was supposed to take over the company "Caribu" one day, he wanted to eliminate his competitor.
