Reviews

Marius Nobach from the film service explains, carefully in structure and dialogues and with surprising, well-dosed moments of humor, the film illuminates the strategies of repression, the conflict between external facade and internal turmoil and the growing awareness of the lifelong psychological consequences of the sexual assault .

Knut Elstermann from MDR Kultur thinks that the outstanding debut of the director Eva Trobisch portrays a woman who does not want to be a victim and does not want to be determined by the outside world. The haunting film shows the high price that Janne pays for it, without ever being named.

Alexandra Seitz from epd film explains that this victim does not want to be a victim, but rather to remain the seasoned, strong, professional woman that she is. Janne did not want to let the act of violence "become a problem" and was using a strategy of repression that was proving increasingly impractical, said Seitz. Her rigidity is almost physically transferred to the audience: "Of course, this is anything but entertaining in the conventional sense, but it offers profound ideas about the possible connections between silence and violence in an economically contextualized gender relationship."

Anna Wollner from NDR Kultur says: "A film that is frighteningly soberly narrated and staged, that was written and shot before #MeToo - and yet brings the debate to the point."

Variety's Guy Lodge explains that Trobisch draws an unreserved portrait of this unprocessed trauma, and that it is marked by deep compassion for his scarred female protagonist, but nevertheless takes a stand against the self-destructive irrationality of her behavior.

Boyd van Hoeij of The Hollywood Reporter says that although Eva Trobisch made her feature film debut with Alles ist gut , this is already a fully developed film that is significantly better than the work of many experienced directors.
