Film art fair Leipzig

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Filmkunstmesse Leipzig is a five-day fair on the subject of film that has been held annually in Leipzig since 2001 .

The fair is organized by the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Kino - Gilde deutscher Filmkunsttheater eV and is primarily aimed at cinema operators , distributors and experts from the art house industry. Once a year from Monday to Friday films are shown - well before they start in German cinemas - and their potential and possible marketing strategies are discussed in discussions. There are also seminars and workshops on current topics in the field of film art.

In the evenings, screenings of selected films that are accessible to the public and also serve as test screenings take place. Since 2005, viewers have also been able to choose one from the films shown for the Film Art Fair Audience Award. The distribution of the selected film receives the prize worth EUR 2,500.

The venues are Passage Kino, Schauburg Leipzig and Kinobar Prager Frühling.

The Gilde Film Prize has also been presented at the Leipzig Film Art Fair since 2004 .
