Before Dawn (Original title: Just Before Dawn , also known as Bloody Twilight ) is an American horror film from 1981 directed by Jeff Lieberman . The film combines elements of the slasher film and the backwood genre .
action
Two men who are hunting in the mountain forests are attacked by a madman. While one of them is killed, the other, Ty, manages to escape. At the same time, five friends, Warren, Constance, Daniel, Megan, and Jonathan set off for the mountains where Warren's family owns a property. When the ranger McLean advises them not to travel, they ignore his warning and drive on. In the forest they meet Ty, who warns them again, but the group doesn't take him seriously either, because they think he's crazy.
When they arrive at Warren's property, the group sets up their tents. The next morning, during a hike, they meet the young mountain resident Merry Cat Logan, who a short time later follows Jonathan into the forest. On a suspension bridge, he is surprised and injured by the same madman who attacked the hunters. When Jonathan tries to reach the other end of the bridge, it rips. Jonathan climbs up the destroyed bridge, where the madman is already waiting for him and pushing him into the river.
Meanwhile, Megan and Daniel explore the surrounding forests and come across an old church with a graveyard. There they are surprised by the madman. It turns out that it's not just a perpetrator, but murderous twins. Megan and Daniel are killed by these.
Warren and Constance return to camp unaware that their friends are dead. They find Jonathan's body in the river and then go to look for the others. When they don't find anyone and night falls, they want to recover Jonathan's body, which has disappeared. Meanwhile, Ty informs Ranger McLean, who is looking for the young people. He passes the Logan, Merry Cat family home. It turns out that the murderous twins of Merry are mentally disturbed brothers from incest. Constance and Warren are attacked by the two brothers. McLean can shoot either of them. The second brother ambushes the two surviving campers who are about to leave in front of their tents. Warren is badly injured in a fight. Constance kills the madman by suffocating him with her fist.
