Yura is a town in the Potosí department in the highlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Yura is the central place of the canton of Yura in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Tomave in the province of Antonio Quijarro . The settlement is located at an altitude of 3373 m on the Río Tumusla , one of the tributaries to the Río Pilcomayo .

Yura is located on the Altiplano in central Bolivia between the Cordillera de Chichas in the southwest and the Cordillera Central in the northeast.
The mean average temperature of the region is around 11 ° C (see Potosí climate diagram), the monthly average temperatures vary between 8 ° C in June / July and a good 13 ° C from November to March. Due to the historically grown population distribution, the region has a high proportion of Quechua population, in the Municipio Tomave 92.0 percent of the population speak the Quechua language.
