Porco is a small town in the Potosí department in the highlands of the South American Andean state Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Porco is the central place of the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Porco in the province of Antonio Quijarro . The settlement is located at an altitude of 4106 m on one of the tributaries to the Río Tumusla .

Porco is located on the Altiplano in central Bolivia between the Cordillera de Chichas in the southwest and the Cordillera Central in the northeast.
The mean average temperature of the region is around 11 ° C (see Potosí climate diagram), the monthly average temperatures vary between 8 ° C in June / July and a good 13 ° C from November to March. From Potosí, the Ruta 5 trunk road leads through the cities of Agua de Castilla , Chaquilla , Yura , Ticatica and Pulacayo to Uyuni on the Salar de Uyuni salt lake . At Agua de Castilla , a country road branches off in a south-easterly direction from Ruta 5 and after four kilometers reaches Porco .
