The Municipio Porco is a district in the Potosí Department in the highlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The municipality of Porco is one of three municipalities in the province of Antonio Quijarro and borders in the north with the province Tomás Frías , in the east with the province José María Linares , and in the south and west with the municipality Tomave .

The central place of the municipality is the city of Porco with 5,287 inhabitants, which is located in the center of the district, the second largest village is the mining settlement Agua de Castilla with 2,817 inhabitants. ( 2012 census )

The municipality of Porco is located on the Altiplano in central Bolivia between the Cordillera de Chichas in the southwest and the Cordillera Central in the northeast.
