Guild film award
The Gilde Film Prize was launched in 1977 by the “Gilde deutscher Filmkunsttheater” and has been awarded to the best art house films of the cinema year by the merged association Arbeitsgemeinschaft Kino - Gilde deutscher Filmkunsttheater since 2004 . When selecting the award-winning productions, not only their artistic quality plays a role, but also the reception of the audience and the commitment of the distributor. The prize - gold and silver from 1979 to 2004 - is awarded to the best German or foreign film. Documentaries have also received awards since 2004 and children's films since 2011. The evaluation period used to be May / June to April / May and since 2004 July to June.

- ↑ The winners of the Gilde Film Prize 1991 were announced in mid-October 1991 at an event organized by the HDF (Main Association of German Film Theaters), but the ceremonial handover of the trophies only took place more than six months later at the guild's annual general meeting at the end of May 1992 (see Filmecho / Filmwoche No. 42, October 18, 1991, p. 24, and No. 23, June 5, 1992, p. 5).
