Bibi & Tina: bewitched! is a German feature film by director Detlev Buck from 2014 , based on the children's radio play series Bibi und Tina , which in turn is based on the witch Bibi Blocksberg, invented by Elfie Donnelly , and her friend Tina. The German theatrical release was on December 25, 2014. The film is the continuation of the film Bibi & Tina , also directed by Buck , which was shown in theaters in March 2014.

action

The half-brothers Tarik and Ole break into Falkenstein Castle on behalf of the fighter Angus Naughty and steal a collection of paintings and the monocle collection of Count Falko von Falkenstein. The count alerts the police, who immediately begin the investigation. He falls in love with the chief detective Greta Müller.

A few days later Bibi and Tina distribute advertising material for the financially troubled Martinshof. Here they come across a caravan in which Ole and Tarik live with three other half-siblings. Her mother is on a cure and the five siblings are on their own. When Bibi met Tarik for the first time, she fell in love with him at first sight. Bibi and Tina don't know that Tarik and his brother were behind the break-in in the castle.

Angus Naughty is commissioned by Bibi and Tina's adversary from the first feature film, Hans Kakmann, to steal the valuable stallion Fantastico from the stables at Falkenstein Castle. Naughty in turn entrusts Tarik and Ole with this task. In order to learn to ride first, he sends Tarik and his siblings to the Martinshof for a riding holiday.

Bibi, Tina and their boyfriend Alex want to find out who broke into the lock. This leads to a break between Bibi and Tina after Bibi spends more of her free time with Tarik. However, the two quickly get along again and encourage their investigations. After Tarik unintentionally reveals the perpetrator's knowledge, he and his brother come under suspicion. Ultimately, Tarik and Ole's attempt to steal Fantastico from his stable fails. In addition, Tarik plagues massive remorse, and he confesses to Bibi his misdeeds. Naughty manages to escape initially, but is ultimately caught and handed over to the police.

Now Hans Kakmann wants to use a big costume party that Count Falkenstein is holding at his castle to get Fantastico after all. But Bibi and Tina see through his plan, and they set a trap for Kakmann. While Kakmann is tied to a tree by Bibi, the others celebrate.

Tarik and Ole initially go unpunished and continue to spend their holidays at Martinshof, where they are supposed to serve their expected sentence in the form of community hours.

criticism

The Bild am Sonntag ruled that Buck made a “furious trashical, full of youthful carelessness and melancholy” from the original. His film adaptation has "little in common with the brave radio play series". TV Spielfilm found the film to be a “brightly colored holiday adventure”, a “great sequel”, the numerous vocal numbers of which “turn out to be a bit slower this time”. The film-dienst said that in the film "girls' horse-drawn films, summer thrillers and colorful pop musicals are once again linked together without the film nearly reaching the playful self-irony and the winking humor of its predecessor".

Sequels

On April 29th, 2015 the production of a third part was announced on the Facebook page of Bibi & Tina . The shooting for this took place in the summer of the same year. The film Bibi & Tina - Girls Against Boys finally hit cinemas on January 21, 2016. The fourth part, entitled Bibi & Tina: Tohuwabohu Total , was also directed by Detlev Buck and opened in German cinemas on February 23, 2017.
