Lina Wendel (* 1965 in East Berlin ) is a German actress .

Life

After her acting training, which she completed from 1984 to 1989 at the "Ernst Busch" Academy of Dramatic Art in Berlin , Lina Wendel received her first permanent engagement in the year of her graduation, which led her to the Neue Theater Halle until 1992 . Here she performed Gretchen in Urfaust of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe , Ophelia in William Shakespeare's Hamlet and Sonja in summer guests of Maxim Gorky . Wendel worked in Hamburg until the mid-1990s, appearing here at the Ernst-Deutsch-Theater and the comedy Winterhuder Fährhaus . After a guest appearance at the Kunstfest Weimar in 1996, she was engaged at the Staatstheater Cottbus from 1997 to 1999 , where she appeared alongside other roles as Helena in Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream and as Amelia in Federico García Lorca's Bernarda Alba's house . Freelance since 2000, Wendel played at Comödie Dresden from 2004 to 2006 . She has been on stage at the Berlin political cabaret "Charly M." since 2008, including with solo programs.

As a 17-year-old Lina Wendel stood in front of the cameras of the former GDR television for the first time . Since the mid-1990s, Lina Wendel has been working regularly for film and television and has appeared as guest in numerous television series, such as in the Großstadtrevier , SOKO Wismar , Der Alte , In allerfreund and several times in the Tatort series . Wendel achieved great success with her portrayal of the title character in the 2013 independent film Silvi , for which not only she but also the strip itself received several awards. In 2015 she embodied the female lead alongside Peter Kurth in Thomas Stuber's feature film debut Herbert .

Lina Wendel lives in Berlin and has a daughter (* 2000).
