Villechenève is a French municipality with 883 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Rhône in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . Administratively, the municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Lyon and is part of the canton of L'Arbresle (until 2015: canton of Saint-Laurent-de-Chamousset ). The inhabitants are called milottiers .

geography

Villechenève is located about 33 kilometers west-northwest of Lyon . The small river Fontbonne limits the municipality to the north. The neighboring municipalities of Villechenève are Affoux in the north, Montrottier in the east and south-east, Longessaigne in the south, Chambost-Longessaigne in the south-west, Panissières in the west and south-west and Violay in the north-west.
