The canton of L'Arbresle is a French constituency with communities of arrondissements Villefranche-sur-Saône and Lyon in the department of Rhône in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It has its capital (French: bureau centralisateur ) in L'Arbresle . By merging with the canton of Saint-Laurent-de-Chamousset , it was enlarged considerably in 2015 as part of the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons.
Communities
The canton consists of 26 municipalities with a total of 37,982 inhabitants (as of 2017) on a total area of 292.08 km²:
Until the reorganization, the 17 municipalities of Bessenay , Bibost , Bully , Chevinay , Dommartin , Fleurieux-sur-l'Arbresle , La Tour-de-Salvagny , Lentilly , L'Arbresle , Sain-Bel , Saint-Germain belonged to the canton of L'Arbresle -Nuelles , Saint-Julien-sur-Bibost , Saint-Pierre-la-Palud , Sarcey , Savigny , Sourcieux-les-Mines and Éveux . Its layout corresponded to an area of 163.26 km 2 . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 6903.
