The Canton Lyon-I was until 2015 a French canton in the Arrondissement Lyon and the region Rhône-Alpes . It originally belonged to the Rhône department and included the 2nd district (French: 2 e arrondissement ) of Lyon . The canton was abolished when, at the turn of the year 2014/2015 , the Métropole de Lyon replaced the Département Rhône as the higher-level regional authority and the cantons lost their function as constituencies. The last representative in the conseil général des Départements was Albéric de Lavernée ( UMP ) from 1982 to 2014 .
