The Canton Lyon-V was until 2015 a French canton in the Arrondissement Lyon and the region Rhône-Alpes . It originally belonged to the Rhône department and included the 5th district (French: 5 e arrondissement ) of Lyon . The canton was abolished when the Métropole de Lyon replaced the Département Rhône as the higher-level regional authority in its catchment area at the turn of 2014/2015 and the cantons lost their function as constituencies. The last representative in the conseil général des Départements was Thomas Rudigoz ( MoDem ), he succeeded Michel Havard ( UMP , term of office 2004–2008).
