The canton of Givors was a French canton until 2015 , which at the time was located in the Arrondissement of Lyon and the Département Rhône . It comprised nine parishes with Givors as the main town . The canton was abolished when, at the turn of the year 2014/2015 , the Métropole de Lyon replaced the département as the superordinate regional authority of Givors and some other member municipalities and the cantons lost their function as constituencies.
