NeBeLNeST is a French progressive rock band.
history
NeBeLNeST was founded in May 1997 by Olivier Tejedor (keyboard), his brother Gregory Tejedor (bass), Cyril Malderez (guitar) and Michael Anselmi (drums). The Tejedor brothers and Malderez had previously played together in the hardcore band Chemistry, while Anselmi had gained experience in the noise / rave band Ventrilock.
The first studio album named after the band was positively received by critics and listeners in 1999. In the following years NeBeLNeST performed at various progressive rock festivals (Festival Off (France), ProgDay (USA)) and organized a short tour through the USA. With the second album NoVa eXPReSS , released in 2002 , the group was able to seamlessly follow on from the previous album . While working on their current studio production ZePTO , guitarist Malderez left the band. He was replaced by Sebastien Carmona, who also left the band after a short time. Matthieu Sassier took his place.
style
The band's musical style is similar to that of King Crimson's music in the era of the Red album (1973). It is characterized by unusual changes of time, powerful playing based on heavy metal and the use of the mellotron .
