The Canton of Lyon II was until 2015 a French canton in the Arrondissement Lyon and the region Rhône-Alpes . It originally belonged to the Rhône department and included the 1st district (French: 1 er arrondissement ) of Lyon . The canton was abolished when, at the turn of the year 2014/2015 , the Métropole de Lyon replaced the Département Rhône as the higher-level regional authority and the cantons lost their function as constituencies. The last representative in the conseil général des Départements was Gilles Buna ( Greens ).
