The canton of Meyzieu was a French canton in the arrondissement of Lyon in the Rhône department of the Rhône-Alpes region until 2015 . The main town was Meyzieu . It was abolished when, on the territory of the municipalities of Meyzieu and Jonage, the Métropole de Lyon replaced the Département Rhône as the higher regional authority at the turn of the year 2014/2015 and the cantons lost their function as constituencies. The remaining five municipalities were assigned to the Arrondissement of Villefranche-sur-Saône .
