The Canton of Lyon-III was 2015 a French canton in the Arrondissement Lyon in the region Rhône-Alpes . It originally belonged to the Rhône department and included the 4th district (French: 4 e arrondissement ) of Lyon . The canton was abolished when, at the turn of the year 2014/2015 , the Métropole de Lyon replaced the Département Rhône as the higher-level regional authority and the cantons lost their function as constituencies. The last representative in the conseil général des Départements was Raymonde Poncet ( EELV ), he succeeded Dominique Bolliet (PS , term of office 2004–2011).
