The canton of Rillieux-la-Pape was a French canton in the arrondissement of Lyon and in the Rhône-Alpes region until 2015 . It originally belonged to the Rhône department and had its main town in Rillieux-la-Pape . The canton was abolished when the Métropole de Lyon replaced the Département Rhône as the higher-level regional authority in its catchment area at the turn of 2014/2015 and the cantons lost their function as constituencies. The last representative in the conseil général des Départements was Renaud Gauquelin ( PS ).
