geography
Fleurieux-sur-l'Arbresle is about 21 kilometers northwest of Lyon . The Brévenne river limits the municipality to the north-west. Fleurieux-sur-l'Arbresle is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Châtillon in the north, Lozanne in the northeast, Lentilly in the south and east, Éveux in the southwest, L'Arbresle in the west and Saint-Germain-Nuelles in the northwest.
The A89 autoroute and the (former) Route nationale 7 run through the municipality .
