Frontenas is a French municipality with 815 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Rhône in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the arrondissement of Villefranche-sur-Saône , the canton Le Bois-d'Oingt and the municipal association of Beaujolais Pierres Dorées . The inhabitants are called Frontenassiens .
geography
Frontenas is around 24 kilometers northwest of Lyon and around ten kilometers southwest of Villefranche-sur-Saône in the Bourgogne wine region . Frontenas is surrounded by the neighboring communities Theizé in the north, Alix in the east and south-east, Charnay in the south-east, Bagnols in the south and Moiré in the west.
