Rivolet is located about eight kilometers west-northwest of Villefranche-sur-Saône in the Bourgogne wine region . Rivolet is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Vaux-en-Beaujolais in the north, Montmelas-Saint-Sorlin in the north and north-east, Denicé in the east, Cogny in the south and south-east, Sainte-Paule in the south and south-west, Létra in the south-west, Chambost-Allières in the West and Saint-Cyr-le-Chatoux to the north-west.
