Ancy is located about 25 kilometers west-northwest of Lyon in the Beaujolais countryside . Alix is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Forgeux in the north-west, Saint-Romain-de-Popey in the north-east, Savigny in the south-east, Saint-Julien-sur-Bibost in the south and Montrottier in the south-west.
