Chénas is a French commune with 545 inhabitants (January 1, 2017) in the Rhône department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . Chénas belongs to the arrondissement of Villefranche-sur-Saône and the canton of Belleville (until 2015: canton of Beaujeu ). The inhabitants are called Chénaillons .

Chénas is located about 18 kilometers north-northwest of Villefranche-sur-Saône . Chénas is surrounded by the neighboring communities Juliénas in the north, La Chapelle-de-Guinchay in the east, Romanèche-Thorins in the southeast, Fleurie in the south and southwest and Émeringes in the west and northwest.
