Location of the association of municipalities in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region

The Communauté de communes Saône-Beaujolais is a French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the department of Rhône in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It was founded on November 16, 2016 and currently comprises 35 communities. The administrative seat is in the municipality of Belleville-en-Beaujolais .

Historical development

The association of municipalities was created with effect from January 1, 2017 through the merger of the predecessor organizations Communauté de communes Saône Beaujolais (before 2017) and the Communauté de communes du Haut Beaujolais , including the municipality of Saint-Georges-de-Reneins . Despite the similarity of the name, it is a start-up with a different legal personality.

With effect from January 1, 2019, the following mergers of municipalities were implemented:

• Belleville and Saint-Jean-d'Ardières → Belleville-en-Beaujolais
• Monsols , Avenas , Ouroux , Saint-Christophe , Saint-Jacques-des-Arrêts , Saint-Mamert and Trades → Deux-Grosnes .

This reduces the number of member municipalities to 35. The seat of the administration was transferred to Belleville-en-Beaujolais .
