Location of the association of municipalities in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region

The Communauté de communes du Pays Mornantais (COPAMO) is a French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the Département Rhône , whose administrative seat is in the town of Mornant . Its area is about 20 km southwest of Lyon on the border with the Loire department and in the foothills of the Monts du Lyonnais facing the Rhone . The community association founded at the end of 1996 consists of 11 communities, its president is Thierry Badel.

tasks

The competencies required include the development and promotion of economic activities and tourism as well as spatial planning on the basis of a Schéma de Cohérence Territoriale . The community association determines the housing policy and operates the garbage collection and disposal as well as the road maintenance department. The association also builds and maintains cultural and sports facilities.

Changes in the parish

On January 1, 2018, the municipalities of Chassagny , Saint-Andéol-le-Château and Saint-Jean-de-Touslas were merged to form the Commune nouvelle Beauvallon . In addition, the municipality of Sainte-Catherine left the association and switched to the Communauté de communes des Monts du Lyonnais .
