Monsols is a commune Déléguée in the French commune of Deux-Grosnes with 912 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) Rhône region of France in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . The residents call themselves Monsourdis .

On January 1, 2019, the municipality of Monsols merged with Avenas , Ouroux , Saint-Christophe , Saint-Jacques-des-Arrêts , Saint-Mamert and Trades to form the Commune nouvelle Deux-Grosnes. Since then it has had the status of a Commune déléguée. The municipality of Monsols was the chief town (chief-lieu) of the canton of Monsols in the arrondissement of Villefranche-sur-Saône until 2015 and was then converted to the canton of Thizy-les-Bourgs .

Geography, infrastructure

Monsols is located in the Beaujolais . The headquarters of the community association Communauté de communes du Haut Beaujolais , which existed from December 28, 1995 to January 1, 2017, was in the village .

The highest point in the municipality is Mont Saint-Rigaud (1009 m above sea level).

The neighboring municipalities are Saint-Bonnet-des-Bruyères in the northwest, Saint-Christophe in the northeast, Ouroux in the east, Les Ardillats in the south, Propières in the southwest and Saint-Igny-de-Vers in the west.
