The municipality of Saint-Jacques-des-Arrêts merged with Avenas , Monsols , Ouroux , Saint-Christophe , Saint-Mamert and Trades to form the Commune nouvelle Deux-Grosnes on January 1st, 2019 . Since then it has had the status of a Commune déléguée. The municipality of Saint-Jacques-des-Arrêts belonged to the canton of Thizy-les-Bourgs in the arrondissement of Villefranche-sur-Saône . It is bordered by Germolles-sur-Grosne to the north, Cenves to the north-east, Jullié to the east, Vauxrenard to the south-east, Ouroux to the south, Saint-Mamert to the south-west and Trades to the west.
