Chiroubles belongs to the arrondissement of Villefranche-sur-Saône and the canton of Belleville (until 2015: canton of Beaujeu ). The inhabitants are called chiroublons .

Chiroubles is located about 19 kilometers north-northwest of Villefranche-sur-Saône . Chiroubles is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Vauxrenard in the north, Fleurie in the east, Villié-Morgon in the south and west and Deux-Grosnes with Avenas in the west and northwest.
