Sainte-Paule is located around 30 kilometers north-northwest of Lyon and around twelve kilometers west-southwest of Villefranche-sur-Saône in the Bourgogne wine region . Sainte-Paule is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Rivolet in the north, Cogny in the north-east, Ville-sur-Jarnioux in the east, Val d'Oingt with Saint-Laurent-d'Oingt in the south and east, Ternand in the west and south-west and Létra in the west .
